Bsrat Mezghebe is a writer from Washington, D.C. Her forthcoming novel explores how war and displacement have affected a family of Eritrean women in the D.C. suburbs. Her essays about identity and migration have appeared in Guernica, The Paris Review, and the anthology Well-Read Black Girl: Finding Our Stories, Discovering Ourselves (Penguin Random House).
She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from New York University. She has also received grants and support from Cambridge University and the Callaloo Creative Writing Workshop.
